The girl with green hair

When Jerry asked me if i could volunteer for HOUSE OF HOPE's Udisa trip which was sponsored by Shane and his daughter Peyton, i was more than thrilled to accept the offer. The journey as usual was fabulous! But the most striking thing that happened to me at Puri was meeting 'Peyton -The girl with green hair.' When we first met at the station, it was just a casual hug and hello. We then shared the same room with other girls at the villa Shane had booked for our 3 day stay. And the first thing Peyton did was introducing me to her sketch book. She immediately took out some of her colored pencils and started drawing a design which was pasted on the wall. I just stood there, watching her, movements of her fingers, those green curls trying to disturb her. I caught her presence in those moments through my Canon.
Later, she gave me a tour to her drawing book, explaining every drawing she made, her imagination in vision. I was awestruck. At the age of 11, she was way ahead. It was her own little glitter world.
My dear Peyt, i have been in love in with you the moment i saw you on that video which Shane, your dad, had sent us on Christmas. you doing funny hand gesture on background as Shane was giving his wishes to HOP kids. I hope in future i would see more of you and your work. Love you to the moon and back.
